Zedekiah Derek
Hi, I’m Zedekiah Derek but they call me Kiah & baby Derek. Derek is my daddy’s name, so that’s where I got the name Derek from. Everyone says I look a lot like him too; except my nose is smaller and my hair is curlier than his. My mom says that’s all I got from her side. I have very curly hair like my Grandpa David and a button nose like my Grandma Esther. I am a chubby lil’ curly haired boy with pale skin. I am almost 8 months old, I still take a lot of naps and am learning to drink from a sippy cup. I like to eat oatmeal and bananas or vanilla custard. I also like chocolate cookies. But my favorite is when my mommy nurses me. She says it’s good for babies, she nursed all of my brothers and sisters. There are five of them that live at home. They are all older than me, I am the youngest.
My first word was da-da-dad. I think that made my dad happy at first but now he’s trying to teach me to say mama. He says I should learn to say it because whenever I say da-da-dad my mom tells him I’m calling him!!! She says she doesn’t mind if I keep saying da-da-dad because she doesn’t have to change so many diapers.
We also have two dogs; my dad and mom say they protect us because they also bark and run to the door when someone is coming. Sometimes they won’t be quiet. My mom says if they keep barking at one person it’s because the dogs are trying to tell us that person is not good to be around. I love them.
Because I am only 7 months old I needed help to write this; well, I needed help to think of what to write and then to write it because right now I can only say dad. We are going to add a few pictures so you can see what I look like.
